# 3.1 Introduction of our project

Mahjong, a traditional entertainment that has last for over ten decades. It is more popular than Go or Chinese chess in Chinese culture and hence it’s acknowledged as the quintessence of Chinese culture.

As to the inspiration of how the name Maverse came up, “ma” stands for the name of mahjong and “verse” represent the concept of metaverse. We took mahjong as an entry, first, it allows more people to learn more about mahjong; second, it can gather more users. Compared with other unverified games in the markets, it has better robustness to work as an entry to this industry.

Meanwhile, we hope to have NFT to work as a pivot of multiple cultures and express the additional values of NFT, therefore we will issue four series of NFT with for characters originated from the Four Symbols of *I Ching*: The Azure Dragon, the Vermilion Bird, the White Tiger, and the Black Tortoise. When designing the characters, our designers mixed different geographical and cultural elements in them, such as native American cultures, Japanese culture and more, to bring about the core values of NFT: inclusive and boundaryless.

Through this project, The Maverse team hope to allow people from all over the world to learn more about different cultures. We also plan to build the very first Mahjong school in Metaverse and take part in cultural inheritance.

Not only so, The Maverse represents the evolutionary industrial ideal; apparently current project plans and business models in GameFi are not mature enough and if we let that continue to happen, in the end the NFT industry will suffer. In order to avoid that situation, The Maverse team had spent much time on design, simulation, and amendment, finally came up with a novel business model. Through this business model, we hope to change current dilemma in the market and help many GameFi supporters to avoid their risk of losses on investment.

The Maverse is not only a culture communicator, it is more of a pioneer in GameFi industry.
